Roy M. Githaiga
CREATIVE DIRECTOR | DESIGNER | RESEARCHER

As a Graduate Master of Architecture with over 8 years in practice, Roy is passionate about the continued preservation of Culture and Sustainability within the built environment and believes in sustainable urban development with an appreciation for local craftsmanship. He draws inspiration from his background in art and design, cultural studies and his background in architecture and sustainability.

With a passion for the Built Environment, he has been involved in a number of both low-cost and high-end residential projects as well as restaurant fit-outs, schools, offices and showrooms for Swarovski, Porsche and VW in Kenya just to mention a few.

Former volunteer member of the UNAWA (United Nations Association of Western Australia) which was highly involved in community development research. He is currently a Board member of the Kenya Green Building Society, Head of the Technical Committee and Youth Chapter liaison. Under the Technical Committee, Roy is involved in material science research, preferably regional materials that would contribute to "Zero Architecture" (Going Net Zero) in the Kenyan built environment and leading the research on Alternative/Appropriate Building Materials and Technologies (ABMT).
